Mild Temperatures May Cause Flooding

Venango County had some pretty mild temperatures for the past week. We all know that with all this nice weather comes melting snow. I have been wanting all this snow to melt! The snow piles around my house, driveway, and sidewalks were getting crazy. I had nowhere to put anymore snow. This weather came at the right time I guess.

Also, we all know that there are places in the area that are known for flooding. All this rain combined with the snow melting makes for a lot of water. Some creeks and rivers can flood very easily by ice jams and rain.

City officials are warning everybody of this risk and want us all to be aware of what is going on at the creeks and rivers around us. As an added caution, if the ice on top of your roof hasn't melted, it can come down in chunks at anytime. Be aware of where your walking.
