Economic Development through Demolishion

The News Herald reported today that the UPMC Northwest officials are planing to demolish the old Franklin Hospital.

They have apparently given up on finding a new order with a productive use for the property. The article fails to mention what efforts had been made.

Possibly the best economic develoment plan for Venango County is to demolish it all and make a parking lot for New York City. An absurd idea? Well, why not?
