I live in Oil City. I read the Oil City Derrik every morning. I was reading the paper this morning and came across an article that I just couldn't seem to make sense of. A woman in Tionesta, along with her brother and another person, planned to murder the woman's estranged husband.
Susan Yeager, 33, her brother John Altman, 28, and a friend of the two, are being held in court on first degree murder charges. Susan's husband Shawn Yeager, 38, was found shot dead on the deck of his home on December 5th. The three involved with the killing planned to make the murder look like a hunting accident. Altman hide in the woods until Shawn came home. As Shawn Yeager was about to enter his house from his rear deck, Altman shot and killed him. After he had killed Yeager, Altman told the accused getaway driver, Robert Pessia, "looks like I got my buck this year."
Now what I don't get is, if you want to make it look like the man was killed accidentally during hunting, why shot him on his deck. Still, there might have been a chance to get away with it. Now here comes the stupidity. John Altman, the shooter, also shot Yeager's dog, a Siberian Husky. You expect people to think the man was accidentally shot, and so was his dog! Come on now, not likely!
