Oil City Vo-Tech

Oil City Venango Technology Center is a great place to go a learn. They teach to seven different schools including Cranberry, East and West Forrest, Franklin, Oil City, and Grove City. Those classes are held during school hours. They also feature adult education classes. They are held in the afternoon and evenings.

Atmosphere - Out of Business

A few months ago I posted a blog about a great new restaurant in Franklin, Atmosphere. Well it's not so great anymore. A couple weeks ago as I was driving past the restaurant, I noticed that it was empty. You could see through one window, and straight out the other. Obviously they went out of business.

Mild Temperatures May Cause Flooding

Venango County had some pretty mild temperatures for the past week. We all know that with all this nice weather comes melting snow. I have been wanting all this snow to melt! The snow piles around my house, driveway, and sidewalks were getting crazy. I had nowhere to put anymore snow. This weather came at the right time I guess.

Franklin on ice

There was a great event that happened this weekend. It was called Franklin on ice. It was a great turn out and there was lots of people there. What it was, was many different ice sculptures.

Different people were there making all kinds of ice sculptures. There was things such as, a dragon, a Valentine's Day Theme, a flower, and an astronaut. It was a very fun day. There was more thing to do such as a chili cook off, and they had storytelling, and even a tour at the Antique Music World.

Tionesta Woman and Two Others Held on Murder Charges

I live in Oil City. I read the Oil City Derrik every morning. I was reading the paper this morning and came across an article that I just couldn't seem to make sense of. A woman in Tionesta, along with her brother and another person, planned to murder the woman's estranged husband.

Fireproof Playing at Galloway United Methodist Church On Valentines Day

"Fireproof," a movie staring Kirk Cameron, will be shown at the Galloway United Methodist Church, in Franklin, on Valentine's Day. The action packed film is about a young firefighter's experience through a troubled marriage. It is a natural ministry tool for inspiring couples in your church and community.

The film will be shown on Saturday, February 14th at 7:30pm. Free tickets for the movie are available at the church office. If you can't make it there before Valentine's Day, you can also get tickets at the door.

The film is produced by Sherwood pictures. Sherwood Pictures is a ministry of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany Georgia. "Flywheel" and the popular "Facing The Giants" are films also done by Sherwood Pictures.
