Of the Venango County Historical Society, the beginning actually goes far back into the year of nineteen hundred and fifty seven, when it was that a small group of persons, that had been spearheaded by Joseph Reisenman, Jr., ended up gathering in order to form an organization that had been interested in the preservation of the area's past history.

At the very moment in time, that a charter had been granted in the month of November in the year nineteen hundred and fifty nine, there were one hundred and eighty seven Members.
