For the past few years I have had the privilege to work on the program known as Venango-Hatchie. This program was started by Oakland United Methodist Church, which is located in Dempseytown, PA. The program focuses on helping those in need in the Venango County Area.
Venango-Hatchie projects include many different jobs. Volunteers from the community help roof, paint, and repair homes for those of us in need. The program usually lasts one week during the summer, where all kinds of people come to help out. Venango-Hatchie is just one way that Oakland United Methodist reaches out to help the world, even if it is just a little bit at a time.
