Venango County is located in western Pennsylvania, in a pleasant, rural setting, ideal for the promotion of an open academic environment conducive to excellence. That is precisely the attitude that Clarion University wants to create. Clarion is a relatively small, upcoming, academic institution organized to promote creative, well-rounded, citizens concentrated on the "global society". To achieve this, education must concentrate on a civic, society-oriented program including, not only the technological and theoretical professional issues, but also the social, democratic, globalized perceptions that are so lacking in the world today.
