Bird watching teach can teach you many things like being punctual, patience and respect for the environment (ecological awareness).
Birds usually stays on their nesting grounds early in the morning so if your not there earlier you won't see them.
If you don't have the patience bird watching is not for you. Many species of birds are now endangered so if you're into bird watching you'll be more concern on doing things that could preserve habitats
