Oil City Cheerleading is an excellent program to be involved with! My sister was on the Varsity squad for football and basketball and was also on the competetive sqaud. It is really kewl to go to the competitions and watch them make their moves and build their stunts.My sister says that cheerleading is very difficult. You don't realize how much strain it puts on your body with lifting and catching. She was a base for the stunt groups and had to backspot the flyers. Their job is as important as the one doing the amazing stunts because if the supports weren't there, the flyers would be injured terribly falling to the ground.
I am very proud of the coaches, Beth Hicks, Mary Benson, Susie Fontanazza, Erin Lenze, Kim Eberle, and Suzanne Ames. They give their prized time and attention to the girls on the squads and make sure they have a great time, be safe, and do well! Great job girls and coaches!
